HRC stands for Householders Recycling Centres. The Peterborough City Council are responsible for the HRC on Welland Road, Dogsthorpe.

- Cardboard egg boxes cannot be recycled as the material has been recycled many times already and the fibres are too short – use it aerate your home composter. Plastic egg boxes are the wrong type of plastic to recycle in Peterborough, use them to grow cress or mustard.

- Plastic bottles with the symbol 1 PET, 2 HDPE or 3 PVC can be recycled. This usually means any bottle – i.e, drink, toiletries, bleach, etc. Don’t forget to take the tops off, give them a quick rinse out and squash.
